Acupuncture

Each acupuncture treatment is tailored to you. Sessions may include gentle acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, tuina, trigger point therapy, and manual cranial techniques. A thoughtful, in-depth interview combined with hands on palpation helps determine which tools and approaches best support your body and your current situation.

Cupping

Fire cupping helps release tension and restore circulation. Typically 2 to 6 cups are placed on the back, using gentle suction to draw blood flow to tight muscles, ease pain, and support healing.

Muscle tension and pain are among the most common reasons people seek acupuncture today — and for good reason. Acupuncture and trigger point therapy can both be highly effective for relieving tight, sore muscles and the headaches that often come from muscle tension.

I first learned trigger point therapy techniques in acupuncture school about six years ago, and later deepened my training through the Myopain Seminars Dry Needling 1 course, which focused on the major muscle groups throughout the body. This approach targets specific “trigger points” — areas of contracted muscle fibers that can cause referred pain and limit movement.

When these points are released through precise needling, patients often feel a brief, deep ache or muscle twitch — followed by noticeable relaxation, reduced pain, and improved range of motion. Usually the results are surprisingly immediate.

I enjoy introducing trigger point therapy, and acupuncture to people who have never experienced it before. It can easily be integrated into a regular acupuncture session — we can work on a few key trigger points, then follow up with traditional acupuncture and cupping to promote blood flow, and loosen the tissues. Most people notice a significant difference after just a few sessions!

Acupuncture & Trigger Point Therapy for Muscle Pain and Headaches

Acupuncture for Mood, Mind, and Pain Relief

Acupuncture can be very supportive for regulating mood, calming anxiety, easing spiraling thoughts, restlessness, and improving sleep. By gently stimulating specific acupuncture points, we tap into the body’s innate healing mechanisms —helping the mind and body harmonize, and feel more grounded over time.

In addition to emotional wellness, acupuncture is highly effective for relieving musculoskeletal pain, tension, and headaches — supporting both physical and mental well-being in a deeply holistic way.
